Spelling
Second graders learn to spell a lot of words. We will be using the Fundations spelling programs this year and learning hundreds of new words! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Scholastic Book Orders
Order books at www.scholastic.com/bookclubs Our one time class activation code on-line is H2JB8, or send in your slip. I will accept checks, but no cash.
Read to Self!
Nightly reading should be done for 15 minutes, Monday - Friday, when school is in session. Parents please sign their nightly reading logs. Please return the log daily.
Our class will learn to build stamina while reading to self. Most days my class will read to self for 15 to 20 minutes with no interruptions.
Working on Words:
Creating and Writing:
This year students will learn about the whole writing process, using the Writers Workshop model. Students will be publishing finished pieces of work to share with family, faculity members, and classmates. We will study a variety of creating and writing about our projects. A great writing link is below for future use.
