Have A Positive Productive Year!
Welcome to second grade! I am excited to help your children think and learn. Your cooperation and support are a vital part of your child's success in school. A good nights sleep and a good breakfast each day also contribute to successful learning.
School Hours: 8:45a.m. - 2:45p.m. Line up is in the front of the school building unless students eat breakfast or go to latchkey. The school bell rings at 8:40a.m. The school doors open for breakfast at 8:30a.m. In case of inclement weather, line up is in the front hallway. If arriving to school after 8:45a.m., please sign in at the office. At dismisssl, please wait for your child outside the front doors. This develops a sense of independence and responsibility in the children. Siblings can also meet up outside the schools front doors. If a need arises to pick up your child before 2:45p.m., please email or write me a note prior to the early release and I will be glad to send the request down to the office. When coming in to pick up your child, check in at the office and they will be glad to assist you. When sending money to school, please make sure all money is in a sealed envelope, or bag, with your child's name on it. Please, also, write what the money is designated for and I will collect all money making sure it gets where it belongs. In order to earn the proper grade/credit, the child's name needs to be on every paper that is turned in. If a child is ill, there will be time to make up the missed work. Please contact me, so that I can get missed class work/homework together. Homework is a very important practice! Please help by providing a quiet place to study, the proper supplies, and guidance. Homework is checked for completion and accuracy, but is not given a letter grade. Daily homework will come home in the take home folder.
Boxtops for Education:Royalview asks all family and friends of the school to cut and collect Box Tops on a variety of products that you buy at the store. Please bag 25 box tops and send them into school. I will collect them for our class. 2nd grade teacher use the Boxtop money to buy materials and supplies for our individual classrooms.

Healthy Snack:2nd grade students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack/drink everyday. No peanut or Tree nut in our classroom please.
Royalview ROCKS Behavior:
The goal at Royalview is for each child to learn to be a responsible citizen by following the rules each day. Each child has a clip with his/her name on it. Each time a rule is broken or done exceptionally well, the child's clip moves to a colored section of the chart. Severe acts of disobedience will result in the immediate removal to the principal's office. Daily behavior will be recorded in data folders.
